Trowse Church LNR
A very small reserve - just two fields by the river, but it supports a fair amount of dragonflies. It is under-recorded though, and we'd appreciate your records.
Directions
From the County Hall roundabout, enter Trowse over the railway bridge and continue till you reach the bend. The church is on your right, just opposite the village sign. The reserve is best entered via the playing field to the left of the church and crossing to the style and footbridge you see across the field towards the rear of the church.
Tour
The board at the entrance shows a broad-bodied chaser, but we've not seen one here yet. We have recorded Common Darter, Migrant Hawker, Common Blue and Blue-tailed damselflies in our brief visit.
Next
Just across the road is the Trowse Flower meadow, while 60yds down Whitlingham lane is Trowse Wood, and further down Whitlingham lane is Whitlingham broad. Walk back towards County Hall to enter the damselfly walk to Lakenham.
